The exhibition "1903 in Croatia" is an exhibition project of thirteen Croatian museums on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the Croatian National Movement. The opening of the exhibition will be held on Thursday, April 20 at 12 noon in the Old Town of Dubovac. The exhibition will be open until May 5, 2023.
It is a traveling exhibition about the popular anti-Hungarian and anti-Magyar movement, which in the spring of 1903, after the clash between the army and the peasants in Zaprešić on the occasion of the removal of the Hungarian flag from the railway station, spread throughout Banska Hrvatska. The cause of the unrest was the pro-Hungarian 20-year rule of Ban Khuen Hedervary. Unrest also affected Karlovac, where there were also demonstrations at the railway station. In addition to the organizer (Brdovec Museum), twelve other museums are participating in the exhibition with their collections and the presentation of the exhibition in their space, among them the Museums of the City of Karlovac, which will present the events of 1903 in Karlovac in the Old Town of Dubovec.
The curator of the exhibition from the side of the Museum of the City of Karlovac is museum advisor Sanda Kočevar.
The exhibition will be open for viewing during the opening hours of the Old Town of Dubovac, from Tuesday to Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
