On April 20, 2023, a traveling exhibition on the occasion of the 120th anniversary of the People's Movement in Croatia was opened at Dubovac Castle. It is a project of 13 Croatian museums, brought together under the initiative of the Brdovec Museum, with the aim of commemorating the events of 1903.
Namely, dissatisfaction with the 20-year rule of Ban Khuen Héderváry, non-compliance with the provisions of the Croatian-Hungarian settlement, Hungarianization, and Croatia's financial dependence on Hungary was the cause of the rebellions in 1903. The ban on holding public assemblies, the clash between the army and the peasants on April 11, 1903, the burning of the Hungarian flag, and the death of the peasant Ivan Pasarić ignited a spark of rebellion in other Croatian cities, including Karlovac.
